Darek Wojnar was named executive vice president and head of funds and managed accounts at Northern Trust Asset Management, spokesman Tom Pinto said.
Mr. Wojnar will lead the development, distribution and management of the firm's mutual funds, its FlexShares ETFs and managed accounts, which have a combined $192.3 billion in assets under management.
He replaces Shundrawn A. Thomas, who is now president of Northern Trust Asset Management. Mr. Wojnar will report to Mr. Thomas.
Mr. Wojnar was head of ETFs at Hartford Funds Management Group. A spokeswoman for Hartford said the firm does not comment on personnel matters.
