Illinois State Universities Retirement System, Champaign, committed $35 million to Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners III, said a spokeswoman for the $18 billion pension fund.
The global opportunistic real estate fund is managed by Brookfield Asset Management.
SURS previously committed $35 million to predecessor fund Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners II in 2015.
The pension fund has a 10% target allocation to real estate.
