Milwaukee County Employees' Retirement System committed $40 million to Mesirow Financial Private Equity Partnership Fund VII, a private equity fund of funds managed by Mesirow Financial, according to recently released board meeting minutes.
The $1.8 billion pension fund previously made a commitment to Mesirow Financial Private Equity Partnership Fund VI. The original commitment amount could not be immediately learned, but as of Nov. 30, according to its most recent available investment report, the pension fund had $16.4 million invested in the fund.
Also as of Nov. 30, the pension fund's actual allocation to private equity was 8.2%; the target is 10%.
