Aldea Capital Partners' five-member investment team joined Barings' alternative investments group, expanding Barings' funds and co-investments team, said Brian Whelan, Barings spokesman, in an email.
Aldea's co-founders Mina Pacheco Nazemi and Patrick O'Hara were former Grosvenor Capital Management executives who formed Aldea in 2016 to manage custom private equity separate accounts for institutional, family office and high-net-worth investors.
"As investor demand for more customized private equity solutions increases, we recognize the need to deepen our capabilities," said Anthony Sciacca, global head of Barings' alternative investments group, in a news release.
Ms. Nazemi is now managing director, head of co-investments on the funds and co-investments team at Barings. Mr. O'Hara is a managing director.
Barings manages more than $53 billion in client assets in its alternatives unit.
