Sacramento County (Calif.) Employees' Retirement System made two new commitments totaling $65 million, said an investment report from a recent board meeting.
The $9 billion pension fund committed $40 million to oil and gas fund Quantum Energy Partners VII and $25 million to Spectrum Equity VIII, a growth equity fund managed by Spectrum Equity Management.
The pension fund previously committed $35 million to Quantum Energy Partners VI and $25 million to Spectrum Equity VII.
Separately, the pension fund placed hedge fund manager Brevan Howard Asset Management on watch for underperformance and organizational changes. As of Sept. 30, the pension fund had $35 million invested in Brevan Howard Master Fund. A Brevan Howard spokesman said the firm has no comment.
