Chicago Public School Teachers' Pension & Retirement Fund is searching for an active domestic small-cap growth equity manager to run $80 million, said Angela Miller-May, chief investment officer, in an email.
Interested firms must have a three-year track record of managing U.S. equity small-cap growth portfolios for institutional investors. It is preferred that firms have at least $1 billion total assets under management, although smaller firms may be considered.
Funding will come from a $428 million Northern Trust Asset Management S&P 500 index strategy, which is being eliminated. Remaining assets are being used to help pay monthly pension benefits, Ms. Miller-May wrote.
The RFP is available on the $9.8 billion pension fund's website. Proposals are due by 4:30 p.m. CST on Jan. 26. A hiring decision is anticipated in March.
