Timothy J. McPhillips declined an offer to serve as interim chief investment officer at the Chicago Firemen's Annuity & Benefit Fund, said Steven R. Swanson, executive director.
The $806 million pension fund board voted Nov. 15 to offer Mr. McPhillips the position for a six-month period starting Dec. 1, recently released board meeting minutes show.
Previous CIO Michael Moran retired at the end of June. CIO duties are being handled internally.
Mr. McPhillips was a board trustee.
Details on a search for a permanent CIO search are forthcoming.
