Illinois State Universities Retirement System, Champaign, is searching for one or more open-end core-plus real estate managers, said a news release from the $18 billion pension fund.
A desire to reduce total plan risk and diversify the pension fund was provided as the reason for the search. The targeted allocation size is $300 million total. The pension fund has a 6% real estate target.
The RFP is available on the pension fund's website.
Proposals are due by 4:30 p.m. CST on Jan. 19. A hiring decision is anticipated on March 9.
A SURS spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for additional information.
