Alex Rolfe was named head of institutional distribution for Australia and New Zealand at money manager William Blair, confirmed spokesman Tony Zimmer in an e-mail Friday.
Mr. Rolfe, who will be based in Sydney, will conduct business relations and consultant relations activities in the two countries.
Mr. Rolfe replaces Alex Francois, who Mr. Zimmer said left the company. Mr. Francois' LinkedIn page shows he joined Deutsche Asset Management Australia as director of sales-asset management this month.
Troy D. Gravitt, a spokesman for Deutsche Bank, said the firm would have no comment.
Mr. Rolfe previously had worked as head of Asia-Pacific at Arrowstreet Capital in Sydney. An Arrowstreet Capital spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
William Blair has $73.9 billion under management. Mr. Zimmer didn't have a specific asset figure for Australia/New Zealand.
