Eugene Podkaminer was named head of multiasset research strategies at Franklin Templeton Investments, confirmed spokeswoman Rebecca Radosevich.
The position is new. Mr. Podkaminer will oversee multiasset research strategies, including markets, asset class and manager research for the group effective Jan. 8.
Mr. Podkaminer will also contribute to the asset allocation strategy for investments managed by the multiasset solutions team, which oversaw $130 billion in assets as of Nov. 30. He will report to Edward D. Perks, executive vice president and chief investment officer of multiasset solutions.
Mr. Podkaminer was a senior vice president in Callan's capital markets research group. His responsibilities will be assumed by his team as the firm seeks candidates to grow the group, said Callan spokeswoman Elizabeth Anathan.
Franklin Templeton Investments had $753 billion in assets under management as of Nov. 30.
