Abdallah Guezour was named head of the emerging market debt absolute return and commodities group at Schroders effective in January, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Guezour replaces Geoff Blanning, who will retire and leave Schroders in April.
Mr. Guezour is head of emerging market debt absolute return and retains those responsibilities. He joined Schroders in 2000 and has worked with Mr. Blanning for more than 20 years.
Also, Mark Lacey, portfolio manager for the firm's commodities strategy, global energy and global gold, was named head of commodities within the group. He will take over leadership of the commodities team and overall energy sector responsibilities effective January. The spokeswoman said Mr. Lacey will report to Mr. Guezour.
The group has $7.1 billion in assets under management.
