Masato Mishina, Tokyo-based head of the institutional sales second department with Nikko Asset Management, will take on the newly created role of deputy head of the firm's Japan institutional business division on Jan. 1.
Mr. Mishina will be tasked with consolidating and integrating an institutional sales function between pension fund clients and other institutional clients, according to a news release Thursday.
Noting that the interests of those two client segments are "increasingly coming together," the news release said Mr. Mishina will work to offer "solutions for the full range of … institutional clients in Japan."
A spokesman for Nikko Asset Management said Takayuki Fujimoto will take on Mr. Mishina's current role as head of the institutional sales second department on Jan. 1. Information on his current role was not immediately available.
