Houston Firefighters' Relief and Retirement Fund committed up to $70 million total to three alternatives funds, said investment committee meeting minutes provided by the $4.1 billion pension fund.
The pension fund committed up to $30 million to buyout fund Bertram Growth Capital III, managed by Bertram Capital.
Additionally, the pension fund committed up to $20 million each to Sterling Value Add Partners III, a retail real estate fund managed by Sterling Organization, and Torchlight Debt Opportunity Fund VI, a real estate debt fund managed by Torchlight Investors.

The pension fund has a 20% private equity target.
