Paul G. Cellupica was named deputy director of the investment management division of the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.
Mr. Cellupica is a former managing director and general counsel for securities law at TIAA-CREF. Before that he was chief counsel for the Americas at MetLife, Inc. He previously worked at the SEC between 1996 and 2004 in the investment management and enforcement divisions.
The position has been vacant since David Grim was named director in 2015. Mr. Grim left the SEC in September and was replaced by Dalia Blass.
