Mark Humphreys was named head of Europe, Middle East and Africa client solutions development at Invesco, said a spokesman.
The position is new and Mr. Humphreys is based in London. The spokesman said the role was created due to demand for customized investment strategies, with a team already in place.
"The global investment solutions team leverages Invesco's broad capabilities across active, passive and alternative strategies to meet client demand," said Colin Fitzgerald, head of EMEA institutional, in a news release. Mr. Humphreys' "appointment will enhance the already strong team in place and is part of our commitment to delivering customized solutions to help our clients meet their specific investment objectives."
Mr. Humphreys was head of fiduciary management at Schroders. At the time of his departure, a spokeswoman said his responsibilities had been absorbed by the existing fiduciary management team.
Separately, Raphael Stern was named head of portfolio management EMEA at Invesco PowerShares, its exchange-traded funds business. Mr. Stern is based in London and reports to Brian Hartigan, global head of ETF investments. He is Invesco PowerShares' first Europe-based in-house portfolio manager, said a news release.
Mr. Stern is responsible for building a team of local portfolio managers to run Invesco PowerShares' regional suite of ETFs, said the release. He "has extensive experience of the ETF sector and his hire reflects our ambitions in the competitive European market," said Mr. Hartigan in the release.
Mr. Stern joined from Deutsche Asset Management where he was a senior ETF portfolio manager. A spokesman was not immediately available to comment.
Invesco PowerShares, which acquired ETF provider Source in August, has $29 billion in assets under management in ETFs in Europe, and $162 billion in ETFs globally.
