Danville (Va.) Employees' Retirement System is searching for a timber manager to run $6 million, said an RFP posted on the website of Dahab Associates, the $250 million pension fund's investment consultant.
Whether this is a new allocation or a potential replacement for another manager could not be immediately learned. As of June 30, 2016, the target allocation to timber was 5%, according to the pension fund's most recently available comprehensive financial annual report.
The RFP is available on Dahab's website. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. EST on Jan. 4. A timeline for a decision has yet to be determined.
Ken Larking, city manager and member of the board of trustees, could not be immediately reached to provide further information; William E. Dahab, principal and director of research at Dahab, was not available.
