Steve Charlton was named defined contribution managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia for SEI's institutional business, said a spokeswoman.
The position is new, and Mr. Charlton is based in London.
He reports to Patrick Disney, managing director of SEI's institutional business in EMEA and Asia, and is part of the institutional leadership team in the U.K.
Mr. Charlton is responsible for developing and expanding the firm's DC business across EMEA and Asia.
SEI's institutional group provides outsourced investment management services. The firm also runs a DC multiemployer plan, known as a master trust.
Mr. Charlton joined from Vanguard Group where he was European DC proposition manager. Details on a replacement could not be learned by press time.
