Lydia Wu joined BNY Mellon Investment Management in Hong Kong as institutional sales director, China, and Gigi Wang joined the firm in Shanghai as business development manager, China, according to a news release Thursday.
Both positions are new, a BNY Mellon spokeswoman confirmed in an email.
The news release said Ms. Wu will focus on growing and strengthening BNY Mellon Investment Management’s relationships with mainland and Hong Kong-based institutional investors.
Ms. Wang will be responsible for the firm’s “broader business development effort in the mainland,” the news release said.
Both Ms. Wu and Ms. Wang will report to Jessie Zhang, the firm’s head of institutional distribution, Greater China and Southeast Asia.
Ms. Wu comes to BNY Mellon Investment Management from State Street Global Advisors, where she served as vice president of China business development, the news release said.
Ms. Wang previously worked at Bosera Asset Management as institutional business development director.
Spokesmen at SSGA and Bosera couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
