Jason Pomatto was named U.S. managing director at bfinance, said a spokeswoman.
The position is new and is part of the investment consultant's expansion into the U.S.
Mr. Pomatto will oversee the firm's newly opened Chicago office — its first in the U.S. — and work to strengthen the firm's U.S. presence by developing bfinance's North American services for institutional investors. He will report to CEO David Vafai.
Mr. Pomatto was vice president, institutional sales at Driehaus Capital Management. It could not be learned if he was replaced; Driehaus spokeswoman Lainey Yang could not be immediately reached for comment.
bfinance's Chicago office is its eighth location. It also has offices in Amsterdam, London, Montreal, Munich, Paris, Sydney and Toronto. The firm opened its Toronto office earlier this year and its Sydney office in 2016.
