Taunton (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System is searching for emerging markets equity and international equity managers to run a total of about $36 million, said Paul J. Slivinski, executive director, in an email.
The $300 million pension fund has issued an RFP due to Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission regulations that require services be put up for bid every seven years, and the pension fund is considering active international equity managers that run growth, value and small-cap strategies, as well as active emerging markets equity managers.
The current managers are EARNEST Partners and Vontobel Asset Management, which run $13 million each in value and growth strategies, respectively, and Denver Investments and Glovista Investments, which run $5 million each in small-cap and emerging markets strategies, respectively. All are invited to rebid.
Mr. Slivinski said he believes the total portfolio amounts should remain the same depending on the asset allocation requirements at the time of the decision.
Dahab Associates is assisting with the search.
The RFP is available on Dahab Associates' website. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. EST on Nov. 28. A timeline for a decision has yet to be determined.
