Allianz Global Investors adds 2 to U.K. institutional team

Leon Douch was named head of insurance and Jason Allan was hired as director, institutional business development at Allianz Global Investors, said a spokesman for the firm.

The positions are new. Mr. Douch works in the U.K. institutional team, reporting to Margaret Frost, head of U.K. institutional. Mr. Allan sits in the same team, reporting to Ms. Frost.

The U.K. institutional team is focused on expansion, with the appointments set to strengthen AllianzGI's engagement with pension fund and insurance clients.

Mr. Douch was deputy CEO (U.K.) and head of insurance sales at Amundi. Mr. Allan was U.K. head of pension funds at State Street Global Advisors. Spokesmen from both firms could not be reached for comment.

AllianzGI has about €500 billion ($580.4 billion) in assets under management.
