Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System, Columbus, rehired Hartland & Co. as investment consultant, said Dennis Smith, chief investment officer.
The $849 million pension fund had issued an RFP in August because Hartland's current contract will expire in April 2018. There were no other finalists.
Separately, the pension fund terminated Wellington Management from an active domestic large-cap growth equity portfolio. Mr. Smith said the termination was due to the pension fund deciding to go in a different direction from Wellington's diversified strategy and was not due to performance issues.
The pension fund will conduct a search for a replacement; whether it will be a shortlist search or an open RFP will be determined within the next few weeks. The size of Wellington's portfolio was not immediately available.
Hartland assisted with the termination.
