Rob Rushe was named European ETF segment executive at BNY Mellon, said a spokesman for the firm.
The position is new.
Mr. Rushe is based in Dublin and reports to Jeff McCarthy, CEO of exchange-traded funds at BNY Mellon. He leads the firm's European ETF platform.
The news follows a restructure this year for BNY Mellon's ETF business, which saw Mr. McCarthy hired along with a number of other new appointments. BNY Mellon provides services including asset services to ETFs globally. Assets under custody and administration is approximately $380 billion, said the spokesman.
Mr. Rushe "has a wealth of ETF knowledge and was involved in developing Europe's first ETF service model in 2000," said Mr. McCarthy in a news release.
Mr. Rushe joined from State Street, where he was managing director and Europe, Middle East and Africa head of exchange-traded fund servicing, said the release. A spokeswoman could not be reached for comment.
