Maine Public Employees Retirement System's board approved two new commitments totaling up to $70 million, said Andrew Sawyer, chief investment officer, in an email.
The $13.6 billion Augusta-based pension fund approved commitments of up to $45 million to Carlyle Asia Partners V, a buyout fund managed by Carlyle Group, and up to $25 million to EnCap Flatrock Midstream Fund IV, a natural resources fund.
The commitments are subject to due diligence, legal review and negotiations.
The pension fund previously committed up to $60 million to Carlyle Asia Partners IV and up to $30 million to EnCap Flatrock Midstream Fund III, both in 2014.
