University of Illinois' university and foundation endowments returned a combined 14.1% for the fiscal year ended June 30, said a news release Thursday from the foundation.
The combined endowment pool has $2.54 billion in assets.
A benchmark return and breakout of asset class returns were not provided in the release. The foundation's $1.6 billion endowment had an asset allocation of 71% global equity, 21% macro risk hedges and 8% global credit as of March 31, the most recent data available. The university endowment's asset allocation was not available.
For the three and five years ended June 30, the combined endowment pool returned an annualized 4.7% and 8.5%, respectively. Last fiscal year, the endowments returned a combined -2.2%.
Urbana-based foundation and Champaign-based university spokesmen could not immediately be reached for additional information.
