Richard Familetti was named president and chief investment officer of Ryan Labs Asset Management, spokesman Scott Paer said.
Mr. Familetti replaced Sean McShea, who resigned as president of Ryan Labs and will remain an adviser with the firm until the end of the year.
Mr. Familetti — who had been handling the CIO duties but did not have the title, according to Mr. Paer — will oversee the firm and report to Steve C. Peacher, president of parent company Sun Life Investment Management.
Mr. Familetti was director of asset management at Ryan Labs. He will retain those responsibilities as president and CIO.
Ryan Labs Asset Management, a liability-driven investing and total-return fixed-income manager, had $7 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
