Mississippi Public Employees' Retirement System, Jackson, is searching for an actuarial consultant, said an RFP on the retirement system's website.
The selected firm will perform annual pension fund valuations along with other actuarial consulting services, including experience studies.
The search is being conducted because the contract of current consultant Cavanaugh Macdonald Consulting will expire on June 30, 2018. Cavanaugh Macdonald can rebid, said Greg Gregory, deputy administrator of administrative services for the retirement system.
The RFP is available on the PERS' website. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. CST on Dec. 1. Finalist presentations are tentatively scheduled for the week of March 26, with a hiring decision expected on April 24.
The retirement system oversees $26.9 billion in pension fund assets.
