Vanderbilt University's endowment, Nashville, Tenn., returned a net 11.5% in the fiscal year ended June 30, surpassing its 10.4% benchmark, said a university spokeswoman in an email.
A financial report on the university's website did not provide return information for asset classes or long-term returns.
As of June 30, the endowment had an asset allocation of 23.8% hedged equities, 23.1% global equities, 22.7% private capital, 11.3% cash and cash equivalents, 8% fixed income, 5.3% natural resources, 3.1% real estate and 2.7% commodities,
Last fiscal year, the $4.1 billion endowment returned -4.3%.
