New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, committed an additional $40 million to 57 Stars Emerging Europe Fund, said Matthew Sweeney, a spokesman for state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, sole trustee of $197.1 billion pension fund.
The separate account fund of funds focuses on emerging markets opportunities in Europe.
The pension fund previously committed $15 million to the strategy in 2016 and $100 million to the strategy in 2009.
