John McAvoy was named a partner at Blueprint Capital Advisors, a spokeswoman said.
It is a new position. Mr. McAvoy, who started in late September, is "involved in the execution of all investment activities" and is responsible for strategic investments.
He is also a member of Blueprint's investment committee and reports to CEO Jacob Walthour Jr.
Blueprint was founded in 2015 and focuses on "manager sourcing, due diligence and the structuring of opportunistic investment for institutional investors," the spokeswoman said.
Previously, Mr. McAvoy was president of Asset Management Finance, a subsidiary of Credit Suisse that focuses on minority investments in asset management firms. He was replaced by Scott Mahoney, a Credit Suisse spokeswoman said.
Blueprint has more than $800 million in assets under management and advisement.
