Michel Meert was named global head of client solutions and consultant relations at HSBC Global Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Meert is responsible for aligning regional consultant relations team with sales and client strategy teams globally.
"This significant hire further strengthens our ongoing efforts to enhance our proposition to institutional asset owners. (Mr. Meert) will play a key part in our business and his strong background within both consulting and asset management makes him ideal for this role," Brian Heyworth, global head of client strategy, said in a news release.
Mr. Meert joined from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was global investment consulting leader – institutional investors. A spokesman could not provide details on his replacement.
HSBC Global Asset Management has $447 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
