Charles Prideaux was named head of solutions at Schroders, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Prideaux is replacing John McLaughlin on Oct. 2, who is retiring from the asset management industry at the end of this year. He will be responsible for strategic advice, customization and risk management to institutional and intermediary investors globally.
"(Mr. Prideaux) has significant investment solutions experience across a broad range of asset classes and I believe our clients will benefit from his talent and knowledge. We have big ambitions for our solutions business and I look forward to building on this well-established and highly regarded business," Richard Mountford, global head of product, said in a news release.
Mr. Prideaux previously worked at BlackRock as head of active investments for Europe, Middle East and Africa, focusing on equities, fixed income and multiasset. A spokeswoman was not available to comment about a replacement.
