Jim Cielinski was named global head of fixed income at Janus Henderson Investors, spokesman Luke Dampier said.
Mr. Cielinski replaces Kumar Palghat, who left in August for personal reasons. Mr. Palghat is remaining as a managing director and portfolio manager at Kapstream Capital — a company he formed that Janus acquired in 2014 — in Sydney.
Effective Nov. 1, Mr. Cielinski will oversee the firm's fixed-income team, which managed $78.4 billion in assets as of June 30. He will be based in London and report to Enrique Chang, global chief investment officer.
Mr. Cielinski was global head of fixed income for Columbia Threadneedle Investments. He was replaced by Colin J. Lundgren, who was deputy global head of fixed income, spokeswoman Ella Tekdag confirmed. Mr. Lundgren was not replaced.
Janus Henderson had £265.5 billion ($346 billion) in assets under management as of June 30.
