Tim Smith was named head of distribution, north west region, for Australian money manager AMP Capital, a news release said.
It is a newly created position. Mr. Smith, who is based in New York, began on Sept. 11 and reports to Boe Pahari, director of the north west region and global head of infrastructure equity. AMP Capital's north west region includes North America, the U.K., Europe and the Middle East.
Mr. Smith was previously managing director, investor relations, at Denham Capital Management.
Officials at AMP Capital and Denham Capital Management could not be immediately reached for further information.
AMP Capital has $137.2 billion in assets under management, according to its website.
