Derrick Cruz was named director of private markets at Angeles Investment Advisors, said Michael A. Rosen, principal and chief investment officer.
Mr. Cruz replaced Susan Lee, who went to work for a family office of Eli Broad, Mr. Rosen said.
Mr. Cruz, who started Sept. 5, will be responsible for leading the investment consulting firm's efforts in private equity manager research. He reports to Shana Mulkerin, managing director and partner.
Previously, Mr. Cruz was a vice president at alternatives money manager Victory Park Capital Advisors.
A Victory Park spokesman could not immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
Angeles Investment Advisors has $27 billion in assets under advisement.
