Thierry de Vergnes was named head of debt fund management at Amundi, said a spokesman for the firm.
The position is new and falls under the firm's real and alternative assets-dedicated platform. The real, alternative and structured assets platform has €81 billion ($96 billion) in assets under management, added the spokesman.
Mr. de Vergnes reports to Thierry Valliere, global head of the private debt group. His main focus is on European transactions.
Mr. de Vergnes was global head of debt fund management at Lyxor Asset Management, where he started that business unit, said a news release by Amundi. A spokeswoman for Lyxor Asset Management confirmed his departure. Lyxor delegated the management of its four European senior debt strategies to Tikehau Investment Management in October 2016. "The activity has been therefore full delegated," she said.
Amundi runs more than €1.3 trillion in assets under management.
