Kentucky Teachers assigns $60 million to latest Carlyle Asia buyout fund

Kentucky Teachers' Retirement System, Frankfort, committed $60 million to Carlyle Asia Partners V, said Gary Harbin, executive secretary.

The $18.1 billion pension fund and the retirement system's $742 million medical insurance plan committed $50 million and $10 million to the buyout fund, respectively.

KTRS has previously invested with the Carlyle Group in other funds.
