Tom Meyers was appointed executive director and head of Americas client solutions at Aviva Investors, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Meyers, who will start Sept. 12, will be responsible for leading the institutional client solutions business and will oversee subadviser relationships in the Americas. In addition, he will oversee the local client solutions team, reporting to Mike Craston, CEO of Aviva Investors Americas, and Louise Kay, global head of client solutions.
"(Mr. Meyers) has a proven track record of building successful asset management businesses in the region, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead our team in delivering the outcome-oriented solutions our institutional clients are looking for, "Mr. Craston said in a news release.
Ms. Kay added in the news release: "(Mr. Meyers') deep institutional relationships, team leadership and industry experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand our resources and efforts in the region."
Mr. Meyers was previously managing senior investment director at Legal and General Investment Management America, where he led the U.K. firm's expansion into the U.S. market.
"Jodan Ledford, head of client solutions and multiasset oversaw (Mr. Meyers) and the distribution team as part of his role. Mr. Ledford will continue to oversee the distribution team more directly in the interim, as Tom Meyers decided to pursue other interests outside of the company," an LGIM spokesman said.
Aviva Investors had the total of $456 billion in assets under management as of June 30, of which $15.2 billion was from the Americas region.
