Singers, songwriters and other entertainers are lending their voices to a promotion for "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power," a new documentary that follows former U.S. Vice President Al Gore on his sustainability quest.
In a second trailer for the film, the artists weigh in with their own thoughts about the promotion's tagline: "Why I'm inconvenient."
Sir Paul McCartney says, "I'm inconvenient for the future of the planet." Randy Jackson follows up with: "I'm inconvenient because I love my mother — Mother Earth," while Pharrell Williams adds, "We can't do this alone. We have to do this together. We have one planet that we live on."
Mr. Gore, co-founder and chairman of sustainable money manager Generation Investment Management LLP, stars in the follow-up to the 2006 documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."
The first trailer for the documentary, released in July in the U.S., opens with President Donald Trump talking about global warming. The trailer cuts to scenes of Mr. Gore speaking on climate change and then to the Paris Climate Change Conference in 2015, where "virtually every nation in the entire world agreed to get to zero greenhouse emissions," Mr. Gore says.
That first trailer then replays Mr. Trump's comments regarding canceling billions of dollars previously pledged to combat climate change. Both trailers end with the tagline, "Fight Like Your World Depends On It." Generation Investment Management runs four high-conviction strategies and has $17 billion in assets under management. Mr. Gore was jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his climate-change awareness and mitigation efforts.
