Sunil Krishnan was named head of multiasset funds at Aviva Investors, said a spokesman.
The position is new; Mr. Krishnan will start in October.
He will oversee the teams managing multiasset portfolios across institutional and retail clients. He will be based in London and report to Peter Fitzgerald, global head of multiassets.
The firm also appointed Gavin Counsell as a manager on the Aviva Investors Multi Strategy Target Income Fund. Mr. Counsell has been a fund manager at the firm for more than five years. He replaced Nick Samoulihan, who is leaving to pursue another opportunity, said a news release.
"We plan to further strengthen the multiasset team and these new appointments are a key part of our intention to continue to build our capabilities in both multistrategy and long-only multiasset funds," said Mr. Fitzgerald in a news release.
Mr. Krishnan is a senior portfolio manager responsible for outcome-oriented funds and asset allocation strategy at Santander Asset Management, said the release. A spokesman said Mr. Krishnan is still with the company.
Aviva Investors has £351 billion ($452 billion) in assets under management.
