Deborah Bannon joined BNY Mellon Investment Management in Hong Kong on Monday as Asia-Pacific head of consultant relationships and head of client services, a BNY Mellon spokeswoman confirmed.
The position is new.
Ms. Bannon left her post as executive director and investments business leader, North Asia ex-Japan, with Mercer Investments (HK) at the end of 2016.
A BNY Mellon news release said Ms. Bannon will be responsible for the firm's relationships with global consulting firms "including consultants dedicated to Asia-Pacific markets such as Japan, Australia, Greater China and Korea."
A spokeswoman for Mercer said Ms. Bannon wasn't directly replaced, amid a reorganization from the start of 2017 that integrated the investments and retirement segments of Mercer's business. With the restructure, several people have taken over aspects of Ms. Bannon's responsibilities, the spokeswoman said.
