Louisiana Firefighters' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, is searching for an active domestic smidcap equity manager to run between $30 million and $50 million, according to an RFP posted on the website of NEPC, the $1.6 billion pension fund's investment consultant.
The pension fund is searching for a manager to complement existing smidcap core equity manager Rothschild Asset Management, according to the RFP. Rothschild had $64 million in an active domestic smidcap core equity portfolio as of July 31, along with Advisory Research, which had a $33 million active domestic smidcap value equity portfolio, a report on the pension fund's website shows. Whether Advisory Research is invited to rebid could not be immediately learned.
Proposals are due Sept. 22. Finalist interviews are scheduled for Dec. 14, with a decision "as soon as practical," according to the RFP, which is available at NEPC's website.
Steven Stockstill, the pension fund's executive director, did not reply to requests for further information by press time.
