Mervyn Tang joined MSCI ESG Research in Hong Kong as vice president and head of ESG research for the Asia-Pacific ex-Japan region, a spokesman for MSCI said.
Mr. Tang replaces Emily Chew, who left the post last year to join Manulife Asset Management in September as the firm’s first global head of environment, social and corporate governance research and integration.
Mr. Tang comes to MSCI from Fitch Ratings, where he served as director, Asia-Pacific sovereigns, responsible for sovereign analysis and macro forecasting.
A Fitch spokesman couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.
