Bristol County Retirement System, Taunton, Mass., is searching for domestic small-cap/smidcap growth and value equity managers to each run about $13 million.
Segal Marco Advisors, investment consultant to the $600 million defined benefit pension system, is assisting with the searches.
The search is being done to comply with Massachusetts law requiring retirement boards to issue formal RFPs for investment mandates every seven years, said Roxanne L. Donovan, executive director of the retirement system.
Earnest Partners and Rice Hall James & Associates are the current managers and are invited to rebid. The system is looking to hire one manager for each allocation.
The RFPs are available on Segal Marco's website. Proposals are due by 3 p.m. EDT on Sept. 6. Ms. Donovan said a selection could possibly be made in November.
