Greg T. Fedorinchik was named president of Mesirow Advanced Strategies.
Mr. Fedorinchik, senior managing director and head of the MAS portfolio management team, assumes the role from Thomas Macina, who retained the position after being promoted to CEO in 2014, said Nancy Gonzalez, a Mesirow spokeswoman.
"Tom can focus on the investment decision-making process with Greg handling the day-to-day operations of the business," overseeing the global client relationship and operations teams, and responsible for select clients' portfolio management, Ms. Gonzalez said.
Patrick Wagener was promoted to head of the portfolio management team at the hedge funds-of-funds manager. He was a senior vice president on the portfolio management team and his duties will be assumed by others, Ms. Gonzalez said.
As part of a multiyear succession plan, Steven Vogt was named chief market strategist, a new position. Mr. Vogt shared the chief investment officer role at MAS with Mark Kulpins, who serves as sole CIO.
Mesirow Advanced Strategies managed $9.8 billion for institutional investors.
