Frank van Etten was named chief investment officer for multiasset solutions at Nuveen, confirmed spokeswoman Kathleen Cardoza.
The position is new. Mr. van Etten will be responsible for delivering multiasset solutions to clients through advice, packaged investment capabilities and custom mandates. He will report to Margo Cook, president of Nuveen Advisory Services.
Mr. van Etten was co-head of portfolio management investment solutions at UBS Asset Management. UBS spokeswoman Sheryl Lee declined to comment on a replacement.
Nuveen managed more than $900 billion in assets as of March 31.
