Ciao, educazione finanziaria!
Financial literacy advocate Annamaria Lusardi is taking her message to Italy, where on July 18 she was appointed director of the country's newly established Financial Education Committee.
Ms. Lusardi holds the Denit Trust chair of economics and accountancy at the George Washington University School of Business, Washington, and is founder and academic director of the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center there. Center officials, in a post on the center's Facebook page, called her Italian post "a step forward in building a global community of countries with national strategies for financial literacy."
Ms. Lusardi "is an undisputed authority in the field," said Pier Carlo Padoan, Italy's minister of economy and finance, in a news release.
