Sandro Pierri was named global head of client group at BNP Paribas Asset Management, said a spokesman for the firm.
The role is new, and Mr. Pierri will report to Frederic Janbon, CEO at BNP Paribas AM.
Mr. Pierri will join the firm in September and will be based in London. The client group is BNP Paribas AM's worldwide sales and marketing organization.
"He brings a wealth of experience in the global asset management industry, notably in sales, and he will be instrumental in supporting our development strategy to become a leading provider of quality investment solutions for individual, corporate and institutional investors," said Mr. Janbon in a news release.
Mr. Pierri most recently has had various non-executive directorships and advisory assignments. He was CEO and head of UniCredit's asset management division until 2015.
BNP Paribas Asset Management has €580 billion ($660.9 billion) in assets under management and advice.
