Gavin Rochussen was appointed CEO of Polar Capital, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Rochussen replaced Tim Woolley. Mr. Woolley moved to a non-executive position within the firm.
Mr. Rochussen "has a proven track record of successfully managing a boutique equity investment house, and we look forward to him taking over the reins. He will be focused on growing the business and delivering performance to clients," said Tom Bartlam, chairman of Polar Capital, in a news release.
Mr. Rochussen was previously group CEO of J O Hambro Capital Management. He was replaced by Ken Lambden, said J O Hambro's spokeswoman.
Polar Capital has £10 billion ($12.7 billion) in assets under management.
