Houston Firefighters' Relief and Retirement Fund committed up to $100 million to Blackstone Core Equity Partners, pending final due diligence and contract negotiations, said investment committee meeting minutes provided by the $4 billion pension fund.
The buyout fund is managed by Blackstone Group.
The pension fund has a private equity target of 20% and current allocation of approximately 10%.
